KPMG Offers New Digital Degree Apprenticeship Scheme

KPMG has started to offer a new digital degree apprenticeship scheme which is a great alternative for young people who don’t want to go to university.

Called KPMG360o Digital, the degree apprenticeship is aimed at aspiring tech experts who want to learn real skills on the job whilst receiving a good wage.

The four year course will lead to BSc degree from BPP University in Digital and Technology Solutions and the strong possibility of a permanent position with KPMG after the apprenticeship is completed.

The KPMG360o Digital apprentices will learn about tech subjects such as artificial intelligence, cloud and data analytics with a hands-on approach from departments including cyber security, forensic services and technology solutions.

At the moment, KPMG are only running the KPMG360o Digital apprenticeship in London, Leeds and Manchester but could roll out the scheme to other parts of the country in the future.

Kristina Martirosjana signed up for the KPMG360o Digital Degree Programme as part of a pilot scheme for the professional services company’s customer due diligence department.

Explaining some of the attractions of the programme, Kristina said: “Before I found KPMG’s apprentice programme, I didn’t know it was possible to get a job at KPMG without a degree. The programme has given me a great way to find out what I wanted to do. You get to try out jobs in various departments across the company. I’ve chosen to pursue technology as my area of specialism as a KPMG360° Digital Apprentice, and at the end of it I’ll have a degree from BPP University in Digital and Technology Solutions.”

“It’s exciting because the technology here is really progressive. By the end of the programme I will have a degree and a permanent job. I see myself here for a long time, KPMG has the resources and opportunities for you to really make a career,” added Ms Martirosjana.

Offering the employer’s point of view, KPMG UK’s head of people, Anna Purchas, said: “For those joining the KPMG 360 Digital Degree Apprenticeship the programme allows trainees to not only gain a degree, but also to acquire valuable on the job experience. In addition we provide learning and development opportunities which are essential for both personal and professional growth.”

“Technological change provides an opportunity to enhance the services we offer, but this cannot be done unless the skills of our workforce match the investment we are making in new technology. The introduction of this new programme highlights the value we place on technical specialists who are just as good with cutting-edge technology as they are with facts and figures,” added Ms Purchas.
