Job Description

  • You will be helping to manage a busy shop which sells both donated stock and a range of Oxfam's own line of products.
  • You will confidently assist with sales and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Essential:

    • Should be able to work at least one day at the weekend
    • Honesty, reliability, integrity and commitment to the shop and Oxfam’s values.
    • Capable of motivating teams as well as being able to work on your own.
    • Hard working and a willingness to learn.

    The role will offer:

    • Training and experience as an Castomer Service Assistant
    • Gain experience of working in a fast paced retail environment

    • We need a computer literate person with good basic numeracy skills and abilities together with an understanding of the retail environment and of working with volunteers. You will be a good communicator while talking to our customers and making them feel welcome in the shop, advising, answering customer enquiries and helping people as they make their purchases. You will need to be commercially aware, well organised and hands on. You`ll also have the passion and leadership skills to help motivate other volunteers via showing exemplary performance in order to maximise profits, generate stock and help us raise funds to fight poverty.

      Practical Considerations

      We will provide all the training you need to feel confident in the role. The shop manager will be available give advice and assist you, as well as other experienced volunteers in the team.You will be treated fairly and with respect while working in a safe and healthy environment. You will receive information and updates about Oxfam's work. You will volunteer in an organisation that is inclusive and constantly strives to be more diverse.

  • If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
  • You must be able to speak English fluently
