ADL is the UK’s leading bus and coach manufacturer; we have a well established Apprenticeship programme in place, which provides the support, structure and guidance necessary to help our Apprentices succeed.
The successful applicants will be put on a programme whereby they will be working in a number of different areas to gain an overall understanding of the business and process flows.
In addition to working in Production, we currently have Apprentices rotating through Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Health and Safety.
Role of a Production Operative:
- Producing chassis within standard build times
- Building products to engineering specifications
- Producing builds to quality standards
- Working in a safe manner using risk assessment and highlighting Health & Safety related issues in accordance with HASAW 1971
- Demonstrating flexibility within all assigned work areas

Skills Required :
- Interest in Engineering
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Aptitude to identify and solve problems
- Strong focus on quality
- Ability to read Engineering drawings
- A good level of IT literacy
Future Prospects : The Apprentice will have a rolling programme with exposure to key departments such as:
Production
Mechanical Engineering
Engineering
Procurement
Health and Safety
Quality
In each placement they will have a learning matrix and assessment.
