Job Description

As an Apprentice your duties will include:




  • Work alongside a qualified Bricklayer.

  • You will also learn how to lay decorative bricks and block work for patios and driveways.

  • You will be fully supported throughout your Apprenticeship by a qualified member of staff who teaches you knew skills and knowledge  during your training period.

  • You will be shown how to align bricks and blocks using plumb lines and levelling tools, working to design plans.

  • You will also be shown how to use mechanical cutting equipment to shape bricks and blocks to fit the correct angles.

  • As you will be working on different sites you will be demolition old structures and ground work as required and replacing with new.

  • Throughout your apprenticeship you will also be given general day tasks associated with your role to fulfil your day.

  • You will be supervised by a fully qualified member of staff, and you must follow all Health and Safety processes and procedures in the work place at all times, as well as ensuring that all tools are clean and put away correctly.

  • You will need to wear the appropriate personal protection equipment at all times when working on site.

  • A good level of fitness.

  • The ability to work as part of a team and with other trades people.



Future Prospects : After completing your Apprenticeship you may have the chance to progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction. There may be the chance of full time employment for the right person.
