Job Description
SLG Automotives are in an exciting phase of their development as a company, the opportunity for an apprentice will be to learn and understand the nature of the business and develop skills to support business activity.
The role will predominantly involve learning and understanding the machinery and equipment within the business and be able to contribute to the restoration of Automotive parts as per the businesses key objectives.
Typical duties will include:
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
- Responding to breakdowns
- Diagnosing faults
- Repairing equipment
- Supervising engineering and technical staff
- Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
- Support creating maintenance procedures
- Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement equipment to be installed
- Ensuring the set quality standards are maintained on all jobs
- Fitting new parts as required, or as part of a regular replacement rota
- Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they're accurate
