Job Description

We have a fabulous opportunity available for an apprenticeship within our independent Day Nursery where you will be caring for babies and children from the ages of three months to five years.

A successful candidate must be able to arrange their own transport to and from work.



You will be expected, amongst other duties and responsibilities as fully listed in our job description




  • Promote children's intellectual, physical and social development through activities, whilst ensuring that the individual needs of the child are met.

  • Teach and extend a child's learning through appropriate activities and play.

  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both children and staff.

  • Attend all training sessions when required.

  • Excellent team player and communicator.



Pay is competitive and determined on level of previous experience in looking after children as well as current academic level and will be discussed at interview. Shift patterns vary as the nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Work patterns are negotiated at interview but will need to take into account any days needed to attend training.

Skills Required :

Good at working as part of a team as well as being able to work efficiently on your own.



Future Prospects : Once you have qualified there are so many options open to you. Early Years Professionals (EYPs) work in a wide range of roles shaping the lives of future generations. There is plenty of scope for training to further your professional career and once qualified there are so many paths to choose from. You may want to focus on specialising as a Room Senior with a specific age group, go on to further study to become an Early Years Teacher, work in the field of special educational needs, outdoor learning, speech and language, or management.
