Job Description

Overview

Provide a positive customer experience as directed by the TUMI PRO process. Develop new customer relationships and interact with existing customers to increase sales. Attain quarterly sales and SPH goals. Build strong partnerships with co-workers and store management.

Responsibilities

SALES:

  • Meet or exceed SPH goal.
  • Convey the importance of the Tumi Customer Experience.
  • Contribute to attainment of store sales goals.
  • Enforce excellent customer service through emphasis on client books, note cards, customer approach and relationship development.
  • Maintain an outstanding level of productivity.
  • Coordinate and seek assistance from the store manager or assistant manager in closing a sale or suggesting a special order.
  • Promptly and efficiently process all basic sales transactions through the register, including name capture.
  • Attempt name capture at every transaction.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Actively participate in staff meetings for the purpose of discussing steps of the sale, policy implementation or changes, merchandise, etc. and to encourage an exchange of information and ideas.
  • Diffuse customer service concerns and defer escalated issues to store or assistant store manager.

MERCHANDISING:

  • Participate in the merchandising of the store in order to acquire the skills necessary to work independently.
  • Merchandise store as directed by visual guidelines.
  • Implement correct usage of interior signage.
  • Ensure that all stock is well maintained and in good condition.

HUMAN RESOURCES:

  • Follow policies and procedures as defined in associate handbook.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new associates.
  • Cooperates with co-workers and consistently supports company philosophies staff.
  • Presents a professional appearance in accordance with established dress code.
  • Maintains high level of attendance and punctuality.
  • Dutiful in maintaining meals and break schedules.

OPERATIONS:

  • Ensure name capture is attempted at every transactions.
  • Ensure price changes are ticketed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Notify manager of damages and partner with manager for proper return to the warehouse.
  • Process and voucher shipments within 24 hours.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain a secure and hazard free environments.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Exemplify the TUMI PRO process.
  • Coordinate and seek assistance from the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in closing a sale or suggesting a special order, if necessary.
  • Explain Tumi's after sales service philosophy.
  • Build and maintain a current and organized clientele book.
  • Promptly and efficiently process all basic sales transactions through the register.
  • Send thank you cards.
  • Notify cutomers on upcoming events.
  • Maintain an awareness of the competitive environement.

LOSS PREVENTION:

  • Maintain inventory on the sales floor by replacing sold merchandise with merchandise from the stockroom.
  • Promptly report shoplifters or in house theft.
  • Control shrinkage through loss prevention awareness.
  • Participate in store inventory on seasonal or as needed basis.
