Job Title Assistant Graduate Print Designer
Location Poole, Dorset
Salary DOE

This is a great opportunity for a graduate to learn, contribute and develop whilst working for a recognised lifestyle brand.

Reporting to the Head of Design and Print Graphic Designer you will be responsible for assisting in the design and production of our client's products.

The role holder must be a team player with excellent communication skills to liaise with overseas suppliers via telephone and email.

Key Tasks

Assist in the designing of men's and women's print and graphic range
Researching market trends and themes and developing briefs
Creating mood boards and colour palettes
Developing a strong and commercial product assortment and design, always keeping in mind the brands values and target consumer
Drawing by hand and on Adobe illustrator CC
Putting designs into repeats
Product design and technical specification including tech packs
Helping with the seasonal catalogue, which will include the use of Photoshop CC
Communicating with suppliers via phone and email, commenting on fabric samples for quality, colour and print
Creating point of sale and graphic design requirements for tradeshows
General admin

Performance Measures

Working to deadlines
Working within a team, producing a range of commercial prints and graphics that reflects the brand

The Candidate

At least 3 months in a head office within a design role, this can include internships
Confident communicator with a sense of humour
A portfolio that demonstrates an ability to hand draw and use illustrator
Degree or equivalent in textiles print fashion graphic design
Understanding of how to design patterns and repeats
Knowledge of using Photoshop
An interest in illustration and typography
