Job Description
- To operate as part of the kitchen team taking responsibility for the preparation of food including basic fish/meat/poultry/vegetable dishes in line with Food Production and Catering level 2
- To deliver requirements for conferences, buffets and other events
- Adhere to HACCP requirements, ensuring all deliveries are checked on arrival and stored correctly; and that all food safety risks are minimised.
- Complete temperature checks and maintain accurate records as required under Safer Food Better Business
- To work as part of the kitchen team in the routine deep clean of all catering equipment, ensuring that all kitchen storage areas are kept neat and tidy, and routinely cleaned to mitigate risks of contamination.
- To be able to lead on setup and closedown of the kitchen
- Support the kitchen team in the implementation of all relevant policies and procedures within food preparation and storage areas, ensuring compliance with risk assessments.
- Operate all machinery and equipment in a correct and safe manner, and ensure other staff members do the same
- Attend meetings and training events as required.
- Have a flexible approach to duties and work and, in particular, adopt a teamwork style across the departments and activities of RHSU. This may involve undertaking duties in support of the activities and services of other departments, but will not involve relocation into other offices
