Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join a Cambridge-based organisation as an Apprentice Software Developer working in their cutting-edge software development team.



Who you’ll work for:

Operating globally, the Software Development team builds and sells off-the-shelf software products to a world-wide customer base looking for engineering and materials joining applications. Their success is largely due to their highly skilled technical and support workforce, so finding the right people and developing them is paramount to their success as a knowledge business; which is where you come in.



As an Apprentice Software Developer, you will follow a a national standard that provides the opportunity to learn the skills needed to become a Software Engineer and begin your career with world-class experience behind you. The Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship combines on the job training alongside academic study and a generous wage throughout the scheme, including when you’re studying.



The training requires hard work and dedication but you will be highly rewarding and will equip you with the principles of software development which offers a wide spectrum of interest and is reflected in the range of software development projects they are involved in.



As well as a comprehensive training program, you’ll study towards a number of industry recognised qualifications including:




  • Microsoft Specialist: Programming in C#

  • Microsoft MTA Database Fundamentals

  • Scrum.org's Professional Scrum Master certification



Your training will take the following format:




  • Working alongside the software development team and engineers to learn the requirements of the day to day work needed to support existing software products, specify new products and develop and test new software solutions.

  • Aptitude to work hard towards the completion of all college work.
