Job Description

A great new opportunity has become available for an apprentice to join the team at Little Lache Nursery.



Working with children aged 2 - 4 you will be responsible for providing the best possible standards of care and education as well as ensuring the environment is safe and secure.



You must ensure the children have access to learning opportunities throughout their time at the nursery; providing learning activities which are educational, stimulating and fun.



Daily responsibilities:




  • To understand and respect the need for consistency of care for the children.

  • Planning and preparation of activities to meet each child’s individual needs.

  • Supervise and observe children in their day to day routine.

  • Assist and promote learning through play, overseeing activities that cover all areas of the EYFS.

  • Liaise closely with parents/carers, keeping them informed and building good relationships with them.

  • Ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained, this may include domestic chores.

  • Read all Nursery Policies and procedures and follow these at ALL times.

  • Make sure the building is secure at all times and follow the safety procedures in place.

  • Support colleagues and promote a supportive working environment.

  • Record accidents on the accident forms and ensure parents sign them.

  • To maintain confidentiality about all issues related to the children and their families; your own and other staff members issues and any other management or operational issues.



As an apprentice you will be included on a Children's and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Coach visiting you on a monthly basis observing you whilst you work.


Personal Qualities :

  • Motivated and passionate.

  • Committed to seeing their training through.



Skills Required :

  • Good communicator, both verbal and written.

  • Basic IT skills.

  • Able to multitask.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • An ability to relate to children up to 5 years old.



Future Prospects : There is a possibility of full time employment at the end of your apprenticeship for the right candidate.
