Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to accelerate their IT career as an Infrastructure Apprentice for a Preston-based organisation. As part of an IT Apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical experience, industry recognised training all whilst earning a salary.

They specialise in supporting the IT needs of businesses for today and tomorrow. Reporting to the Technical Director you will be working for a leading supplier of Computer Hardware, Software and Maintenance Services throughout the North West of England.



As an Apprentice IT Technician, your job includes:




  • Level 1 Telephone Support

  • Level 1 Remote Support to existing customers

  • Pre-Installation of all hardware, this ranges from standard PC build, through to Server

  • Pre-installation of Operating Systems & Software including Server builds, Office Software, Antivirus, Acrobat ECT

  • In House Repairs, PC’s Laptops

  • Warranty registrations, Manufacturer Warranty replacements

  • Office 365 Tenant creations and user setup

  • Setup and Pre-Installation of Desktop Computers prior to install

  • Setup and Pre-Installation of Servers prior to install

  • Basic hardware fault finding of faulty computer equipment

  • Software troubleshooting on Desktop PC’s

  • Virus and Malicious ware removal on Desktop Computers

  • Data backup and re-imaging of Desktop PC’s

  • Research & Development into new technologies

  • Understanding and Developing internal systems

  • New Software & Update verification

  • General Office administration
