Job Description
The role would be going out to different venues, including St Peters Community Church, Brookside and Half Crown Wood, and will involve the clearing of grounds in the first instance, and then maintaining the grounds / environment thereafter.
This will improve an individual’s knowledge and practical skills in all aspects of horticulture. Work will include:
- General Maintenance.
- Pruning, bedding, potting, cutting.
- Digging, racking, levelling.
- Planting, maintaining and looking after existing plants.
- Mowing, weeding, tidying.
- Landscaping, designing, building.
- Painting and general housekeeping.
This is a physical and practical job role.
Personal Qualities :
A can do attitude, a willingness to learn and progress, enjoy working in a team but also can work on own initiative, motivated and enthusiastic, a desire to work within horticulture.
Skills Required :
- Good communication skills.
- Team player.
- Organised.
- People skills.
- Interest / passion in Horticulture.
- Interest in helping the community.
- Attention to detail.
- Good timekeeper, punctual and willing to learn.
Future Prospects : After successful completion of the Traineeship programme, you will receive a certificate of completion and a reference as a minimum to support you with your future Apprenticeship or job applications. There may be opportunities with your placement provider subject to paid vacancies being available.
