Job Description

Duties for the successful applicant will include:




  • Taking and making general phones call to customer in a polite and calming manner.

  • Someone who can interpret information correctly and compile information and data correctly.

  • You will input all information on to a computerised system, check information, and the process for payroll.

  • Printing and maintaining reports for companies, including printing payslips for companies.

  • Dealing with HMRC and deductions reports including court orders, council tax and CSA payments.

  • Utilising and maintaining email templates and spreadsheets.

  • You will also be trained on using Sage invoicing and accounts and the franking machine.

  • You will be supported and mentored by a small, friendly but very busy team to ensure you get all the resources you need.


Personal Qualities :

  • The ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team and be respectful to team members at all times.

  • Be an excellent communicator at all levels, via telephone and face to face.

  • Be able to use their own initiative.



Skills Required :

To be a Business Administration Apprentice, you will need to possess a range of qualities:




  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • A confident and positive attitude

  • Word processing skills

  • Good verbal communication and listening skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and organise yourself to complete tasks fully and on time

  • Ability to use initiative to think through problems to find solutions

  • Literate with good written communication

  • Ability to check for accuracy and give attention to detail

  • Ability to answer, speak confidently and take messages on the phone

  • Knowledge of spread sheets, word processing and databases

  • Ability to use initiative

  • Calm under pressure

  • Good personal organisation

  • Team worker



Future Prospects : For the successful candidate there will be the opportunity for progression onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Many apprentices start in business administration, customer service or accountancy, which are great stepping stones into lots of exciting careers. You can go on to specialise in a particular field and into management. You'll find people who started in administration working in all professional areas and at all levels.
