Job Description
The successful candidate will be working within the Kent and Canterbury Hospital in the Pharmacy department.
Your main duties will be:
- To ensure that all customers and telephone calls are attended to promptly in a friendly manner and are referred on appropriately.
- Receive prescriptions according to current protocols, as well as tracking all the prescriptions.
- To dispense or sell medicines in accordance with local procedures under supervision ensuring that stock levels are correctly maintained JAC system.
- To return stock to shelves after dispensing and to ensure that all supplies are replenished.
- To sort out returned drugs for reuse or disposal according to agreed procedures.
- To use JAC system to undertake routine checks of stock levels in the Pharmacy, checking expiry dates and ensuring that the stock is rotated accordingly.
- To assist in ordering receipt and storage of pharmacy supplies.
- To maintain a clean, safe working environment by cleaning and tidying the dispensary.
- To assist in the delivery of medicines to wards, outside units and customers as necessary.
- To follow up all outstanding orders, refer to purchasing officers if necessary.
- To assist in the accurate input of invoicing and credit matching.
- To assist in the purchase of urgent pharmaceuticals.
- To assist in the use of web based NHS messenger.
