Baltic Training and McCann Ltd are excited to be recruiting for an IT Technical Support Apprentice based at their offices in Nottingham. ISO accredited, McCann Ltd are a civil and electrical engineering company that work on major road, railway and airport infrastructure projects. After celebrating their 50 year anniversary, they now require an Individual passionate about IT to their expanding IT team in their modern and high tech office.

Duties 

You will be working alongside existing staff and be mentored and trained to carry out the following duties:




  • Purchasing & configuring computers to sit on the company domain

  • Rebuilding & reconfiguring existing computers as required

  • Coordination with our IT software supplier to maintain office 365 accounts

  • Update McCann social media accounts

  • Update McCann website

  • Maintenance of exclaimer email signature website



Training to be provided:  




  • Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in ICT

  • Level 3 Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles

  • Networking Fundamentals

  • Mobility and Device Fundamentals

  • ITIL Foundation

  • Cloud Fundamentals

  • Coding and Logic

  • Level 2 Functional Skills (Literacy, Numeracy and ICT)



  Skills and qualifications required:




  • 5 GCSE's A-C grades, including Math's and English

  • Passion for IT

  • Due to the location a driver is preferred

  • Customer Service skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Positive work ethic

  • Ability to manage a work load

  • Aware of computer peripherals

  • Experience in setting up new devices

  • Confident in working in a team and independently



The future is bright 

Upon completion of the 12 month programme, there are real progression opportunities available. Along with your employer, you may decide to progress onto our level 4 programme and take your training even further.

 

Salary, hours and benefits




  • £ 175.00 per week

  • Full time (37.5 hours per week) – 9.00AM – 5.00PM



Location and travel 

This role is based in Derby, with good access to public transport links for the surrounding area and there is a free onsite car park for those who drive.
