What to expect
We’re looking for the future leaders of Global Asset Management — and this starts with our 10-week internship. You will need to be forward-thinking, driven and perceptive, open to different ideas and cultures and enjoy being part of a team.
An internship in Global Asset Management will help you understand how HSBC connects individual retail customers, major multinational corporate clients, sovereign wealth funds and financial institution clients with investment opportunities around the world.
You will complete a placement in one of the following areas: investments, business development and sales or product; which will allow you to focus on developing your knowledge of Global Asset Management’s investment capabilities and customer groups. You will have the opportunity to contribute and deliver in our fast-paced environment, which will help you build analytical and communication skills, demonstrate your initiative and experience our collaborative team spirit.
You’ll be able to take part in our sustainability initiatives. Our volunteering programme, for example, could help you to develop new skills, while contributing to the communities in which we work.
We offer a market-competitive pay and benefits package according to your location.
Learning and developmentAfter a one-week induction, including IT and technical training tailored to Global Asset Management, you’ll start learning on the job in your placement. Measurable objectives will be set for you at the beginning of your internship and you’ll receive regular feedback on your performance.
There will be a number of people you can call on to help you make the most of the experience. You’ll have the support of a line manager, who can offer advice on your career options; and a buddy who you can share ideas with and who will offer guidance and support. You will attend regular business and social events to complement your day-to-day role so that you can build a network and establish your name.
Career pathsThe Global Asset Management Internship is the start of an exciting international career in Global Asset Management. Perform well and you may be given the opportunity to join the Global Asset Management Global Graduate Programme on completion of your university studies.
Captains neededLeading and developing a team of people is key to helping our clients achieve their hopes, dreams and ambitions.
