Job Description

Duties will include:




  • Prepare payroll for clients using Sage payroll software.

  • Processing payslips, calculating Net pay, PAYE and National Insurance and other deductions, calculating employer and employee pension contributions. Calculating payments due to HMRC. Dealing with submissions to HMRC and pension companies under Auto Enrolment.

  • Assisting with our internal workflow management system including booking in of client records.

  • Providing a bookkeeping service for clients

  • Preparation of other statutory forms for filing with Companies House.

  • Company Secretarial matters.



The role is to be based in our Durham office. The successful candidate will join our Payroll department and be graded as a Payroll Assistant.



Support and training will be delivered by the department manager who is an experienced payroll manager. Whilst the primary focus will be on payroll there will also be a need to support the work of the Audit and Accounting department, training and support on this aspect of the role will be provided by the Audit and Accounting manager who is a qualified Chartered Accountant.



Training will be provided on all aspects of payroll and in the organisation and functions of the department.
