The successful candidate for this vacancy will be reporting the Software Engineering Manager. They will be introduced into the world of Software Engineering given the opportunity to experience a variety of technical functions with a Software Development lifecycle predominately working within the Military Solutions Engineering Team



Responsibilities




  • Support a number of different programmes with the responsibility for Software Design, Code Development and Test, together with defect correction as required

  • Have a logical and careful approach to analysing requirements, creating appropriate designs and developing implementation solutions, as well as an understanding of the role of test in ensuring delivery of mature products

  • Support Senior Engineers to generate products that meet the standards and processes defined in a relevant Software Development Plan, as well as the documented requirements



Skills and Experiences




  • You will have a keen interest in Software Engineering and a basic understanding of the aspects that that it entails

  • Ability to use own initiative and work well in a team environment

  • Logical and careful approach to testing and problem solving with Hardware and Software

  • An appreciation of financial aspects

  • Have a strong desire to learn, be part of a team and cope with demanding and pressurised environments

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal / Good organisational skills

  • Good IT skills in a range of Software Packages would be an advantage



Qualifications Required




  • 5 GCSE’s (A*-C) Including Maths, English and IT (or equivalent qualifications)

  • A Levels / BTEC Level 3 in related Subjects
