Job Description
Reports to: Head of Sports & Activities (HSA). Location: 16 centres across the UK.
Managing: International students.
Hours:
- Up to 42 hours per week, on average.
- Evening and weekend work required.
- Some weeks you may be required to work in excess of 48 hours. You will therefore be asked to ‘opt out’ of the 48-hour Working Time Directive.
Contract and Pay:
- 4 week contract with a potential extension.
- A deduction of £37.80 per week (£5.40 a day) will be deducted from your weekly pay for full board and accommodation.
Ardmore requirements for all employees
- Eligible to live and work in the UK and 18 or over.
- Have a suitable police check/ enhanced DBS (Ardmore can assist with this).
- High level of professional conduct and smart appearance.
- Commitment to safeguarding students at all times.
- Follow all Ardmore Procedures and policies
- Excellent communication skills and proficient in English language.

Essential:
- Ability to lead fun and engaging activities (whether sports/ arts & crafts or alternative) for a group of students.
- Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of children/teenagers.
- Previous experience working with children/teenagers and in a team.
- Flexible approach to the working day and ability to ‘think on your feet’.
- Ability to create and sustain working relationships with children and young adults.
- Outgoing personality and enthusiastic team player.
- Ability to work in high pressure environment.
Job tasks:
Activities and Excursions
- Plan, organise and implement a wide range of activities during morning, afternoon and evening activities as directed by the HSA.
- Ensure activities are structured, engaging, accessible and enjoyable for all participants.
- Be enthusiastic and motivated in promoting and delivering the weekly Ardmore Activity Programme.
- Ensure students attend the set activities and attendance records are accurate.
- Prepare and pack up each activity session ensuring all equipment is returned. Reporting any damaged items to the HSA .
- Guide and organise students on excursions.
- Assist in the opening and closing of the centre as directed by the Centre Director/HSA and accounting for the return of all equipment at the end of the course to the HSA.
- Applicants holding specialist qualifications will be required to undertake duties such as pool duties/sports coaching and first aid provision.
