Job Description


  • To supervise, monitor and deliver high quality personal care to elderly residents of all ages and abilities within a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.

  • To contribute and participate with families and other health care professional as required to review the individualised person-centred care planning process for each resident.

  • To perform necessary duties to help elderly residents, while maintaining not only their privacy, dignity, choice and consent, but also their independence and well-being.

  • Keyworker responsibility for residents ensuring they receive meaningful one-to-one time every day.

  • Complete all regulatory ad statutory training requirements and comply with all company policy and procedures whilst at work.

  • To consult with the resident/ families to offer support to maintain the residents room clothing and property.

  • Support residents to understand the aging process and how it affects their health and lifestyle, by maximising their independence and creating the environment which supports their physical and mental wellbeing.

Skills Required :

  • Level 2 NVQ or Intermediate Diploma in Health and Social Care.

  • Able to demonstrate specific knowledge of clinical care for the older person.

  • Care home or caring experience.

  • Takes accountability and learns from mistakes.

  • Able to meet the demands of the role.



Future Prospects : When your Apprenticeship is complete you will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, you can continue within your job at Barchester and enjoy an increase in your salary.

If you wish to do so, you can also continue with further training and development. We offer full training and ongoing professional development to all our staff.
