Job Description
Working alongside senior nursery staff to support childrens learning and development in nursery classrooms you will be involved but not limited to the following tasks:
- To support in maintaining a learning environment that is safe, stimulating and supports children in their play and learning development.
- Support teaching staff in preparing and maintaining teaching resources.
- Work under the guidance of staff to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for birth to 4 years of age.
- Work under the guidance of staff to support children’s personal, social and emotional well-being including supporting children with personal hygiene routines.
- Provide support for children during lunch time.
- Work within the polices and procedures of the school
- Work under the guidance of the teaching staff to deliver
Personal Qualities :
We are looking for someone who is committed, hardworking and has good communication and organisational skills. The key attribute we require in our staff is that they genuinely enjoy working with children.
Skills Required :
- Ability to relate to children and adults
- Ability to show awareness of and meet individual’s child’s needs
- Ability to work as part of a team, and to bring new ideas to the setting
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow advice and guidance from Room Leader
- A thorough understanding of and ability to promote safeguarding of children.
Future Prospects : 12 month contract as apprentice may lead to permanent position in nursery thereafter.
