Job Description
Day to day duties will include:
- Support the Town Clerk during Annual Budget Setting
- Creating and updating Spreadsheets
- Regular Budget Analysis and balance reporting
- Assisting the Town Council's Accountant in Payroll/Timesheet reporting
- Accurate posting of monies and credit notes/purchase orders on the Council's accounting systems (RBS)
- Drafting of monthly payment schedules for sign off by members & Responsible Finance Officer
- Chasing up invoices and payments / Credit Control functions
- Be responsible for the drafting and sending of Purchase Orders and Invoices as directed by the RFO/Spend Managers
- Complete spend authorisation forms and ensure files are updated
- Be responsible for project budget monitoring
This is based within the Town Clerk's Office. Whilst the normal working hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, there will be a need to attend some regular evening meetings (most of these are scheduled on an annual basis, so dates will be known stright away). It is invisaged that this role will become permanent post the successful completion of the Apprenticeship with opportunities to grow within the organisation.

Future Prospects : Although the initial apprenticeship is 15 months it is likely that this will become a permanent position.
