Job Description

Job Function includes but is not limited to:




  • Compile list of outstanding debts and management of prompt payment in order to reduce debtor days

  • Control of petty cash

  • Produce management information, graphs and statistics

  • Assist with general account management

  • Processing supplier invoices - matching invoices against delivery notes.

  • Posting of supplier invoices to Purchase Ledger account

  • Checking invoice value against order value for price variations.

  • Maintain Purchase Ledger to include supplier records, bank details and allocation of payments

  • Agency labour - Calculate value of hours worked and agree with supplier invoice

  • Daily bank transactions - posting and reconciliation

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements where required.

  • Payment of supplier accounts - receiving telephone and written requests for payment.

  • Placing of purchase orders with subcontractors & suppliers

  • Verify compliance of quote to specification required, prior to order placement.

  • Progress and chase Long Lead items.

  • Control and booking of all hire equipment

  • Running of ‘Month End’ procedure

Skills Required :

The following would be advantageous:




  • Computer literate – Microsoft Excel and Word

  • A basic knowledge of bookkeeping

  • Good telephone (oral) and written communication skills

  • Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team to meet deadlines

  • Good organisational skills
