Job Description


  • Planning and supervising of activities using the EYFS & Planning activities

  • with the out of school club children.

  • Observing, assessing and planning for the individual needs of the children

  • and keeping a proper record of achievement.

  • Attending to the physical needs of the children, such as toileting where

  • needed.

  • Working with Parents, Carers and other professionals.

  • Encouraging independence and high self-esteem.

  • Dealing with injuries, emergencies and incidents as they occur, including the

  • reporting of safeguarding concerns.

  • Helping children to learn through activities and play, reading stories and

  • providing other activities to develop language skills.

  • Adhering to and being aware of all health and safety in the environment to

  • keep children safe.

  • Assist with taking children on excursions.

  • Uphold the settings standards by adhering to all policies and procedures.

  • Attending meetings, training, events and gaining further qualifications as

  • required.

  • Assisting with the regular cleaning of the out of school club rooms and toys.

  • Assist with the handling and serving of food to children following Food

  • Hygiene regulations and setting procedures.

  • Keep up to date with procedural changes and other activities going on at the

  • setting.

  • To undertake any additional responsibilities where appropriate and / or as

  • requested by management, which may include working in a different room to

  • normal when covering illness.


Personal Qualities :

  • Reliable, punctual and enthusiastic, good social and verbal communicationskills, ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative, good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, patience, able to work in a small team and flexibility.



Skills Required :

  • Enthusiasm for working around children, motivated to serve the public and deliver excellent customer care, a positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities.



Future Prospects : You will be working towards a full time position should one be available at the end of your Apprenticeship.
