Manor Courses, a reputable family business with over 50 years of experience in running Residential Summer English Courses, we're thrilled to announce our search for passionate individuals like you to join us as Accommodation/House Managers, responsible for entertaining, supervising, and creating unforgettable experiences for young learners during their summers in the UK.

JOB DUTIES

As a Manor Courses Accommodation/House Manager, you will:

  • Extend a warm welcome to students at airports, ensuring a smooth arrival process and maintaining tidy and inviting houses.
  • Prioritize safety by creating secure and homely campus environments where students can thrive.
  • Settle students into their accommodations, familiarizing them with safety procedures and providing necessary support and guidance.
  • Be a supportive presence, listening to students' needs and promoting English language practice for an immersive learning experience.
  • Supervise the campus during non-lesson times, registering and overseeing students who opt-out of activities.
  • Conduct daily registrations, monitor attendance, and maintain accurate records to ensure a well-organized environment.
  • Foster a sense of community through student house meetings, effective communication, and rule enforcement.
  • Oversee dining experiences, ensuring safe and enjoyable meals and facilitating social connections.
  • Continuously gather and respond to customer feedback, exceeding expectations for an exceptional experience.
  • Lead groups safely, instilling a culture of learning and responsibility for personal growth.

  • Contract includes - 4 days off (4 x 24hr periods off the rota) in 4 weeks.
  • Salary consists of - 4 weeks’ pay of average 48 hours per week + 3 days’ pay for Staff Induction + 1½ days’ pay for Student Welcome/Orientation.

  • Dedication to child protection and safeguarding is paramount. We seek individuals who share our commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for young learners.

  • As part of our comprehensive screening process, a police/criminal record check is mandatory to assess suitability for working with children. This requirement underscores our unwavering commitment to safety.

  • Having a UK/EU passport or UK visa is essential, as we are unable to obtain work permits or visas for applicants. Your eligibility to work in the UK is an important consideration.

  • Possessing relevant training, qualifications, or certificates in a related field will strengthen your application. Additionally, any previous experience working with children or international individuals will be highly valued.

Now, it's essential to note a few things:


Our Head Office is located in Brighton; but our Residential Summer School is situated out in the Sussex countryside at Hurst College in Hurstpierpoint.

We offer international children an English language and social programme throughout July and August, students arriving for 1, 2, 3 or 4 week courses.

Our courses for children aged 8 - 17, ensure parents a safe environment managed by a family company.
