Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of Mechanical Graduate Engineer to join our Engineering team in Kitts Green, Birmingham.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering input to solve complex and challenging engineering problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Design quality mechanical equipment with the support of solid command of technologies eg AutoCAD, Solidworks.
  • Assist in improving Plant and equipment uptime to improve Area Plant Reliability.
  • Assist in the specification and procurement of the new Plant and Equipment.
  • Perform in-depth planning and monitoring of activities during periods of planned downtime.
  • To lead/support projects to introducing new and/or improving existing equipment and processes.
  • Manage and liaise with contractors on various projects.
  • Read and write PUWER Risk Assessments.
  • Manage and Install Machine Guards across different plant areas.


Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles and systems & Engineering Standards.
  • A strong desire to work within a manufacturing/production environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, eg Microsoft Office and internal systems.
  • Able to work within a large and fast paced team.
  • Analytical skills, strategic thinking and attention to details.
  • Ability to read and write PUWER Risk Assessment.
  • 1-2 years’ experience of heavy manufacturing equipment/similar industry/Engineering.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Additional accreditations in engineering tools such as CAD, Inventor and Nebosh etc.
  • Ability to analyse technically complex problems and develop the most appropriate solutions
